Paul HegyiPHYSICIANS: Gavin Newsom is the first California Governor to prioritize health care. Within hours of being sworn in as California's 40th Governor, Newsom signed an executive order aimed at controlling health care costs and expanding access to care for millions of Californians.

Among the Governor's more noteworthy efforts is his plan to reduce pharmaceutical costs by leveraging the bulk purchasing power of the state, and of businesses who provide health care coverage for their workers, to help lower costs for consumers and the state government. Many of the details of this new purchasing program will have to be worked out, but we are strongly supportive of the governor's goals.

As the Governor's actions demonstrate, 2019 is guaranteed to be a very busy and significant year for health care in California. What is also guaranteed is that we will be vigilant and aggressive in protecting physicians and their patients throughout this process.

As always, let me know if you have any questions!  Paul Hegyi, CEO
