NYCU March 9, 2021 March 14, 2021 CMA, CMA Benefits, COVID-19, COVID-19 Vaccinations, Infectious Disease, Public Health, SDCMS 0 TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2021 PHYSICIANS: The distribution of PPE in 2020 by the California Medical Association, in coordination with local medical societies including SDCMS, resulted in 100 million pieces of PPE going to over 100,000 physicians and staff at a value of more than $200 million. As of December 31, 2020, the effort had distributed a combination of 35 million masks, 35 million sets of gloves, 2.3 million isolation gowns, 2.5 million face shields, 400,000 hooded coveralls, 21 million N95 respirators, 3 million sanitizing wipes and 700,000 sanitizer bottles. CMA is extending its distribution of free personal protective equipment with direct shipment of supplies to California physicians. The new online portal offers California physicians the ability to select specific types of PPE incuding: ? coveralls ? hand sanitizer ? nitrile gloves* ? face shields ? isolation gowns ? sanitizing wipes ? goggles ? N95 masks ? surgical masks *gloves for solo and small group practices only, available in either medium or large sizes Please note, inventory is first–come, first–served, and each practice is limited to one order every 30 days.
