Gavin Newsom has declared as the Golden State's ‘Re–Opening Day’ since the COVID–19 pandemic caused initial lockdowns in March of 2020. There is much to be hopeful for given the continuing rise in vaccinations in San Diego County and California, as well as the nation. Our number of cases and COVID hospitalizations have fallen dramatically. But those of us in the medical community know there is still much work to be done in putting the pandemic behind us. SDCMS will continue to work closely with and actively engage San Diego County's Board of Supervisors, Public Health Officer and Health and Human Services staff on COVID–19 as we have throughout this pandemic as we enter this new stage.
