That is really the only thing on my mind. The vaccines are here, but getting them to all of you and your staff has been challenging. I can't express the sense of relief I felt when the Vaccination Super Station at Petco was announced. The County in partnership with UC San Diego Health, the City of San Diego, the Padres, and others will be vaccinating up to 5,000 health care workers a day by the end of the week. This isn’t a complete solution, many more PODs are needed around the county with expanded capacity, but it is a start and gives me hope we will tackle this problem sooner than later. If you or your health care staff need to schedule a vaccination, go to VaccinationSuperStationSD.com. Check back regularly if there are not available appointments, they are regularly adding capacity and updating the lists. Many, many of you have been asking how you can volunteer. I’m proud to work for a group so willing to step up and help your community. Right now the best way to volunteer is registering with the Medical Reserve Corps, starting at SanDiegoMedicalReserveCorps.com. UCSD is developing their own volunteer registration system for the Petco site, which should be up later this week. Prior to the February 23rd Board of Directors meeting, the SDCMS Nominating Committee will convene and consider a proposed slate of SDCMS Board of Directors candidates for 2021—22.
