Paul HegyiPHYSICIANS: CMA’s annual House of Delegates was held October 13 – 14th at the Convention Center in downtown Sacramento. Over 500 physicians, medical students and residents from all over California gathered to debate policies related to lowering the cost of health care in California while maintaining physician led practices.
Of note, SDCMS Treasurer Toluwalase "Lase" Ajayi, M.D. chaired the Council on Medical Services, the group responsible for drafting all the recommendations considered at the House. Dr. Ajayi did an amazing job presenting the findings of her council and explaining to the entire House their reasoning, earning accolades from all involved.

Our own Theodore M. Mazer, M.D., completed his term as CMA President, handing the reigns to Los Angeles physician David H Aizuss, M.D. Former SDCMS President Robert E. Wailes, M.D. was re-elected Chair of the CMA Board of Trustees, the governing body of the association. Former SDCMS President Susan Kaweski, M.D. elevated to Chair of CALPAC, the political action committee of CMA. And finally, SDCMS Board member Vimal I. Nanavati, M.D. was newly elected Treasurer of CALPAC.
