Paul HegyiPHYSICIANS:  Yesterday's Physician Social at the UCSD Faculty Club in La Jolla proved to be both a fascinating and insightful experience. Dr. Stuart Jamieson gave an exclusive lecture on his new book, "Close to the Sun: The Journey of a Pioneering Heart Surgeon." SDCMS co-sponsored this event with the City Club of San Diego.

Dozens of physicians attended and enjoyed Dr. Jamieson's talk. Dr. Nick Yphantides, a member of the San Diego County Medical Society's Executive Committee, praised Jamieson's pioneering work and described being overcome with emotion by the experience when he was scrubbed in as a medical student on the  first heart lung transplant conducted at UCSD, which Dr. Jamieson performed. As always, let me know if you have any questions!  Paul Hegyi, CEO
