TUESDAY, MARCH 3, 2026 PHYSICIANS: It’s been a whirlwind few days as SDCMS just concluded its successful Board of Directors Annual Retreat, helmed by SDCMS President–Elect Maria T.   TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2025 PHYSICIANS: Beware of scammers posing as Drug Enforcement Administration representatives! Our office has been contacted by a local physician who reported receiving a phone call from a scammer representing themselves as being from the DEA. This was a major issue five years ago but seems to be returning as a threat. The DEA has posted a warning for physicians, medical personnel and the public to be on the lookout and proceed cautiously with those claiming to be representing the DEA. The DEA warning can be found HERE. SAN DIEGO ...

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2025 PHYSICIANS: The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has released a notice of upcoming changes to Medi–Cal Rx as part of the 2025–26 state budget. The new rules will be phased in over the coming months, beginning with an update to the coordination of benefits (COB) claims process for Medicare members on November 1, 2025. Effective November 1, DHCS will adjust how pharmacy claims involving both Medi–Cal and Medicare (known as dual eligible) are submitted and adjudicated to streamline processing. Under the updated rules, pharmacies must submit ...
