SDCMS News You Can Use

Paul HegyiPHYSICIANS: We are just back from California Medical Association's House of Delegates Annual Session over the weekend where San Diego’s own Robert E. Wailes, MD, concluded his very successful year as CMA President. Over four dozen physicians attended from San Diego County and our very own SDCMS President, Lase Ajayi, MD, presided for hours over the extensive discussion on Health Reform. We are also proud to report that San Diego County Medical Society once again beat all other regional medical societies and won the ‘Victory Bell’, given to the medical society with the best member participation in CALPAC, CMA’s political action committee.

On Tuesday, November 15th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, join the AAP–CA3, County of San Diego HHSA, and the San Diego County Dental Society as they gather in–person for a learning event on ‘Clinical Pearls on HPV Cancer and Immunization’. Free CE/CME credit and a boxed meal will be provided at the Dockside Room in the Marina Village Conference Center at 1936 Quivera Way in San Diego. For more information, contact Meredith Kennedy of the American Academy of Pediatrics, CA Chapter 3, at (619) 281–2273 or info@aapca3.org. You can also register HERE.

The DEA’s National Take Back Day is this Saturday, October 29th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at numerous locations throughout San Diego County. Please remember that sharps are not accepted, veterinary medications are accepted, and drive–through drop–off is available at all locations. It is anonymous and contactless. A reminder to please join your colleagues at our next physician networking opportunity and mixer on Thursday November 3rd, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse in La Mesa. Come mingle, socialize, and network with your colleagues, and be sure to bring your spouse / significant other — complimentary pizza and drinks will be provided.

There is no charge for current society members or their guests to attend this hosted event as included in SDCMS’ benefit offerings. Space is limited and RSVPs are required, so REGISTER NOW, and do spread the word by forwarding this email to your colleagues.

Medical practices, physicians, practitioners and their administrators alike can all benefit from an increased awareness and understanding of the top five risks associated with their organizations, especially given recent changes in healthcare operations and regulations.

SDCMS in partnership with The Doctors Company invite you to attend an important and timely webinar entitled ‘Top Five Risks for Your Practice’ to help address these concerns. Join us for this FREE event on Wednesday November 9th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

We will provide information on the top five risks healthcare providers face today. In addition we will offer guidance and strategies to help reduce your practice’s risk exposure. All are welcome, both members and non–members alike. Attendees will also earn 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits upon conclusion of the program.

RSVPs are required so REGISTER HERE, and do spread the word by forwarding this email to your colleagues. Upon registration you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

As always, let me know if you have any questions! Paul Hegyi, CEO
