With support from the County of San Diego, Champions for Health, working with a team of physicians and pharmacists, most of whom are members of the Prescription Drug Abuse Task Force, and are very passionate about opioid use and pain management, has designed a free CME course on Innovations and Smart Approaches in Safe Prescribing”.

Please visit The Doctor Company’s website to access their free, innovative new CME course for the latest in pain management and safe prescribing. They have assembled the newest tools, methods, and updated guidelines to safely treat patients in pain. They will walk you through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments, recognize opioid use disorder (OUD), and even begin medication assisted treatment (MAT) in patients recovering from OUD.

Speaking of Champions and the great work they do providing medical assistance to San Diego County's underserved and minority communities, I'd like To encourage you to attend their ‘Casino Nightfundraiser on October 8th from 5 to 9pm at the Vault at Veloce Motors.

Another reminder to encourage your patients who are experiencing a suicide, mental health or substance use crisis to call or text the new 988 number to get help for themselves or a loved one.
