Healthcare Reform Summary and Call to Action!

Executive Director Comment:

We need every physician in San Diego County to call our two senators and your congressional representative on two issues:

  1. Fix the GPCI inequity
  2. Raise Medicaid/Medi-Cal Rates as Part of Healthcare Reform

Healthcare Reform: Grassroots Call to Action

The House is poised to vote on major health reform legislation over the weekend. HR 3961 would eliminate future scheduled SGR cuts; HR 3962 is the omnibus House health reform legislation that is intended to expand access to affordable healthcare. CMA is supporting HR 3961 but has not taken an official position on HR 3962. CMA is supporting pro-physician and pro-patient provisions of HR 3962 and opposing those that are not. CMA is also planning a more pointed grassroots and public relations effort on the Senate legislation in the days and weeks to come.
