Paul HegyiPHYSICIANS: Today, Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) introduced AB 3087that would have dangerous and serious ramification to health care in California. This legislation would not onlydrastically increase patient costs, but more importantly it would create state-sanctioned rationing of health care for all Californians.
Inliteral terms, AB 3087 would create a government run commission of 9 political appointees who would unilaterally set the price for medical services. This would literally end the the commercial health care market in California.I am asking all SDCMS members to contact their state legislators immediate to request a 'No'vote on this bill. You can do that easily by clicking this link here. To read the press release and get more details about AB 3087click here.
On a much more positive note, I would like to send my sincere congratulations to our own Dr. Bob Herzka and Champions for Health (CFH). Both were honored last week during the County of San Diego's annual Live Well San Diego Public Health Champions award ceremony. Both Dr. Herzka and CFH were acknowledged for their achievements in improving the health and well-being of local residents. This is a great and well-deserved honor for both of them. You can read more about the event and the other honorees here.
As always, let me know if you have any questions! Paul Hegyi, CEO
