Paul HegyiPHYSICIANS:  This past week I traveled to Chicago with a dozen SDCMS members to attend the American Medical Association's (AMA) Annual Meeting.  While many important issues were addressed during the week nothing was as critical as the AMA's decisive decision to declare gun violence as a public health crisis.

The AMA voting members passed a series of gun-related proposals including mandatory gun safety courses and a ban on gun purchases by people under 21 years of age.  I've included a news article and a media release below for you to read more about the proposals.

If you have not yet responded to the SDCMS' 2018 Medical Office Salary Survey, please take 5 minutes and complete it today.  The information you submit is anonymous and is critical for San Diego area physicians and office managers to have job-specific data when making salary and personnel decisions.  You can take the survey by clicking here.

As always, let me know if you have any questions!  Paul Hegyi, CEO
