It is vital at this time that we as medical professionals are as well–informed and prepared as possible to educate, assist and reassure the public during the next several weeks. San Diego County Public Health Services has issued a FAQs sheet for Coronavirus, CLICK HERE. The number of Coronavirus cases has already exceeded the number of SARS cases in 2003. But for perspective, we know that the flu is a more serious public health threat to San Diegans than Coronavirus. However, the danger posed by the flu is not receiving the same level of media attention or public anxiety. Earlier today, San Diego County Medical Society's own Dr. Will Tseng, Chair of our Communications Committee and our lead on public health issues, will participate in a news conference with San Diego City Councilman Chris Cate and County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher to inform and reassure the public regarding Coronavirus and encourage people that it is safe to continue to shop and visit the Convoy area.
