QUESTION #900: I am in the process of renegotiating all of my contracts. I was told by Blue Cross and Blue Shield that they are nonprofits and that they do not negotiate rates. Is this true?

ANSWER (06/11/09): Blue Shield is a nonprofit, but Blue Cross is not. Blue Cross does in fact negotiate contracts.
