QUESTION #693: Blue Cross is denying my claim and sending me a questionnaire for a possible pre-existing illness. I don’t understand how diahrrea, abdominal pain, and fever are pre-existing illnesses. Can you help me?

ANSWER (07/22/2008): CMA’s Center for Economic Services was able to speak to Blue Cross. Blue Cross said it had determined that this issue is not part of a pre-existing condition and as such had asked the home plan (out-of-state Blue Card member) to authorize payment.
