"Scope of Practice of Allied Health Professionals: PAs, NPs, RNs and MAs" Webinar
In an ambulatory care setting, allied healthcare professionals (AHP) play a critically important role in the delivery of healthcare services. These allied healthcare professionals assist physicians in managing the care of their patients. As such, duties, tasks and responsibilities afforded to the allied healthcare professional must be within their scope of practice to avoid any potential liability and/or violation of licensure and certification. This webinar is designed to address this susceptibility in medical practices by providing physicians with the key informational tools they need to clearly delineate tasks and responsibilities of allied healthcare professionals.
Objectives:
- Discuss the key components of a scope of practice
- List three steps needed to implement written scopes of practices for allied healthcare professionals
- Identify three patient safety risk reduction measures that physicians may implement to reduct the potential liability of delegating duties outside of the allied healthcare professional's scope of practice
