RISKY BUSINESS: LITIGATION TRAPS FOR SURGICAL PRACTICES

Purpose: This webinar program intends to increase awareness of frequent and preventable events and how physician and staff engagement in pateient safety initiatives is critical to improving outcomes for patients.  Physician collaboration with hospitals and ambulatory centers is crucial in preventing wrong site surgeries and procedures, retained foreign objects, and infections.

Objectives: At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role of patient safety organizations in mitigating risk;
  • List methodologies for preventing wrong-site surgery, retained foreign objects, and infections.

CME: 1.0 CAT 1 CME
