- Describe data showing that comfort measures at the end of life actually prolong the lives of patients and caregivers
- Explain the laws related to end-of-life care and advance planning
- Utilize appropriate language when explaining the normal process of death to patients and family
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE GAP: Physicians are often unsure of how and when to introduce palliative care for patients. Providers must receive additional training on palliative care in order to make the best recommendations for end of life patients.
ACCREDITATION: Sharp HealthCare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
