TITLE: “Emerging Patient Safety Issues Impacting Office Practices” (risk management webinar)
DESCRIPTION: Healthcare is a rapidly changing industry that is creating more of a burden on healthcare providers to evaluate, proactively, the risks inherent in their practices. With the potential reduction in reimbursement, increase in accessibility of newly insured patients, and the emphasis on the adoption of electronic medical records, to name a few, providers must be able to identify patient safety and risk management issues before these issues escalate into medical malpractice claims.
This presentation will:
- Provide attendees with patient safety tools that will assist them in identifying practice risks.
- Provide attendees with patient safety initiatives and risk reduction techniques that can be easily implemented within the practice setting.
At the conclusion of the programs, participants will be able to:
- List three emerging patient safety issues potentially impacting their office practice setting.
- Identify risk reduction strategies to combat the emerging areas of practice risk.
- Discover patient safety and risk management techniques (i.e., change in policies and procedure, change in processes and/or systems, staff education, etc.) that can be used to implement risk reduction strategies.
